NETBA winner 2023

And the winner is...

It might not have been the in-person celebration we'd hoped for.... but at last we can announce that the winner of this year's NETBA is Benjamin Dean with his scandalous thriller, The King is Dead.

Huge congratulations to Ben on his  NETBA win and to his publisher, Simon & Schuster.  Luckily for us, Ben's brand new book  How to Die Famous will be released in July and we know his many NETBA fans are going to love it just as much!

Ben kindly created a brilliant video message especially  for our NETBA judges and answered some of their burning questions......  Click on the link below to find out more!

Highly Commended

Voting was exceptionally close this year so we just had to give a special mention to Tracy Darnton for her gripping and completely unguessable psychological thriller which got all of our judges talking!

Tracy was also kind enough to answer some of their many questions.

Be warned - her answers contain SPOILERS!  Click here if you're prepared.

Thanks to our schools for the probing questions and to Tracy for such a compelling story - fingers crossed there's another one coming very, very soon!

Congratulations to all the authors and publishers on this year's shortlist; only the very best books make the NETBA cut so you're all winners in our book!   Thanks for keeping us reading.

Thanks to the schools who took part in the judging process too for your enthusiastic and thoughtful contributions.

Here's to next year - celebrating an incredible 25 years of NETBA!!
